On his first attempt, Lacroix seamlessly weaves forbidden lust with the looming and at times, acute mortal peril that awaits American boots whenever on the ground in the tortured cradle of human civilization. The web he spins would make the Roman Goddess, Minerva envious, but unlike with Arachne, her curled toes and flushed cheeks would compel her to simply beg for more. Hopefully for his readers, Lacroix will oblige.
